I know i am going to get asked this, so i will answer it here. Why does she have four arms? Two reasons. One, i felt that i owed a favour to someone, even though they did not ask for it. So i told them i would paint whatever they wanted. All they asked for was something with multiple appendages, something different from my normal comfort zone. The other reason is that when i started painting the luna moth, she just sort of grew four arms, and it made sense to me that she would have six appendages...because insects have six. Well, at least it makes sense to me ^^ What doesn't make sense to me is that i started this one year ago. I took many long breaks. Re-painted basically everything several times. Moved the arms around, repainted her dress, repainted her head twice, repainted the background twice, cropped it differently, etc. I learned a lot, but it was a frustrating process. So, i just want to thank everyone for the support you have given me, it is definitely an inspiration for me to keep going, even when i feel like quitting. A specific thank you to ~tlagrange and `frail for their support and advice on this particular painting. ========== Artwork copyright © Rachel Anderson. All rights reserved.
